Authorities from multiple agencies arrested a fugitive Thursday night in McClure, Illinois.
U.S. marshals and Union County, Illinois, sheriff's deputies arrested Brian K. Haymaker, 38, about 11 p.m. Thursday at a home in McClure, the Union County Sheriff's Department reported Friday.
A dispatcher at the sheriff's department said the Illinois Department of Corrections had issued a warrant for Haymaker's arrest on a parole violation.
Haymaker -- a registered sex offender -- was paroled from the Big Muddy Correctional Center on April 14, according to the Illinois Department of Corrections website.
McClure is in Alexander County, Illinois, but online court records show Haymaker at one point lived in Jonesboro, Illinois, in Union County.
"He's known to hang out in our county," said Brian Hill, a dispatcher for the Union County Sheriff's Department.
In 2003, Haymaker pleaded guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault and was sentenced to 15 years in prison, online court records show.
Haymaker was 26 when he sexually assaulted a 10-year-old, the Illinois State Police sex offender information website shows.
Haymaker has several other prior offenses, including aggravated battery, theft and burglary, according to the Illinois Department of Corrections website.
Union County deputies joined authorities from five other agencies -- the U.S. Marshals, Illinois State Police, Alexander County Sheriff's Department, McClure Police Department and Union County state's attorney's office -- in searching for Haymaker before his latest arrest, the Union County Sheriff's Department reported Friday.
At the time of his arrest, he had been fleeing from police for several days, the department reported.
