FRUITLAND, Mo. -- Fruitland Livestock Auction Tuesday. Receipts, 823; last week, 751, last year, 1030. Compared to last week feeder steers and heifers under 500 lbs sold steady to 2.00 higher, offering over 500 lbs sold 2.00-4.00 lower.
Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady; demand moderate and supply light. Cows made up approximately 33 percent of the run, feeders 67 percent.
Steers made up approximately 51 percent of the offering, 49 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 28 percent.

PATTON LIVESTOCK
PATTON, Mo. -- Patton Junction Livestock Auction Monday. Receipts, 769; week ago, 960; last year, 1,310. Compared to last week steers and heifers sold 5.00 to as much as 8.00 higher. What a difference a week makes! With producers and their help still in the woods trying to harvest deer, last weeks fall in price keeping numbers half of normal and add to the mix a three day week to put trucks under the cattle, the rebound in the futures market made for a very good healing week. Producers can hope nothing comes along and pulls the scab off and starts the bleeding again. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 2.00 higher; Demand moderate and supply light. Cows and bulls made up approximately 8 percent of the run, 92 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 54 percent of the offering and 46 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 17 percent.
