STE. GENEVIEVE French Colonial Days will be celebrate here Saturday and Sunday, commemorating the town's French heritage.

A king and queen will be crowned, and strolling through the French Colonial District will be story teller Pierre Boyer, autoharp~ist Clare Condon and the French folk singing group Les Petite Chanteurs.

There will be French Colonial craft demonstrations of chair caning, weaving on a 120-year-old loom, quilting, basket weaving, crocheting and painting. French cuisine will be available at many restaurants.

A Lantern Tour will be conducted Saturday evening, with stops for French Colonial cooking, quilting, dulcimer music and harpsichord music. Tickets are available at the Tourist Information Center.

A French Colonial fashion show and workshop will be presented at 1 p.m. Sunday at the County Services Building. A fee is required.
