The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois overnight Thursday.
The warning, issued early Wednesday, includes Alexander and Union counties in Southern Illinois and Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Perry, Scott and Stoddard counties in Missouri.
The warning is in effect from 1 to 9 a.m. Friday morning. Lows are forecast in the mid to upper 20s as a shot of cold Canadian air blankets the region, with frost expected. Cape Girardeau's low was expected to hit 27 degrees, according to Wednesday morning's forecast.
