At the beginning of every year, millions of people across the nation resolve to quit smoking. An upcoming Freedom From Smoking course can help smokers stop smoking.
The seven-session course begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Medical Center. Subsequent sessions will be on Wednesday nights with the exception of a Friday night session Feb. 11. Classes will be held in the St. Francis Health and Education Centre.
Class sessions provide information, support and encouragement, and are led by an ex-smoker who understands the physical and psychological aspects of tobacco use.
The classes are co-sponsored by the American Lung Association of Eastern Missouri. They use a positive behavior-change approach to enable smokers to kick the habit.
Registration fee is $50. To register or for more information call Judy Stricker at 339-6107.
