Pianist Rosario Andino will perform a free public concert at Academic Auditorium on Sunday at 3 p.m. sponsored by JCPenney Company and Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts.
The program includes "Sonata in D Major" by Hayden, "Sonata in G Minor, opus 22" by Schumann, "O Prole Do Bebe" by Villa-Lobos, "Ballade" by Chopin and "Paraphrase on Verdi's opera Rigoletto" by Listz.
JCPenney annually sponsors a free concert through the arts council. Arrangements for this concert were made possible through Southeast Missouri State University Department of Music.
Born in Santa Clara, Cuba, Andino gave her first concert appearance at the age of 6. She graduated with honors from the Fischermann Conservatory in Havana, and later from the Chatham Square Music School in New York City.
