Low-income women may be eligible for free mammograms and Pap smear tests. Missouri's Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Project, funded by the Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control Prevention.
The screenings are being offered in the Cape Girardeau area by East Missouri Action Agency Family Planning Clinic at 1111 Linden.
Participants must live in Missouri and meet age and income guidelines. Family income must be at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. For example, a woman with a family of four and income of $28,704 or less is eligible for the free screenings.
