The Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity at Southeast Missouri University is sponsoring its first annual Shoe Drive to buy shoes for needy children of Cape Girardeau.

The fraternity will dispense collection cans next week with decorated with the emblems and names of different student organizations in the University Center and the Towers student housing complex.

Carlos Jenkins, project chairman, said that his fraternity hopes to raise more than $100 to buy the shoes.

Kappa Alpha Psi is working with the Cape Girardeau Civic Center to distribute the shoes to needy families before Christmas.
