The Franklin School PTA will present Career Night for parents and students at 7 tonight at the school.
Children in all grades will participate and have an opportunity to learn about three careers. There will be 22 speakers talking about 19 different careers.
Louise Ridgeway, who is on the program committee of the PTA that is coordinating the event, explained that an effort was made to present career choices in "a diverse and exciting manner."
Ridgeway said the committee attempted to break down stereotypes about professions by inviting, for example, a male nurse and a female dentist.
Some of the professions that will be represented include: police and fire, medical, coaching, barbers and cosmetologists, travel consultants, and news media.
