Franklin Elementary School will host a free, public presentation on the life of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Debra M. Miles, assistant general counsel for Missouri Department of Mental Health, is the featured speaker.
Rhonda Dunham, Franklin principal, said Miles is an excellent speaker. While scheduling her for Thursday's event, Dunham said she was so impressive, she is planning a second event, on cultural diversity, featuring Miles in February.
On Thursday, Miles' presentation will include a 45-minute talk, with handouts, followed by a brief question-and-answer session.
The school is at 215 N. Louisiana St. in Cape Girardeau; call 335-5446 for details.
