POPLAR BLUFF -- Four teen-agers were seriously injured in a one-car accident that occurred Friday afternoon on a county road four miles west of Poplar Bluff, the state Highway Patrol said.

The vehicle, driven by 17-year-old Brian A. Green of Poplar Bluff, ran off the side of Route PP as Green was westbound. The car struck a tree, the Highway Patrol said.

Others riding with Green were: Shaun E. Prenger, 17; Adam J. Twinberry, 16; Christina O. Gorman, 16; and Jonathan T. Nelson, 17. All are from Poplar Bluff.

Gorman received moderate injuries in the crash.

Green, Prenger, and Twinberry were transported by ambulance to Doctor's Hospital in Poplar Bluff. Gorman and Nelson were taken to Lucy Lee Hospital.
