Four people were injured in accidents around Southeast Missouri Tuesday.

Two Jackson residents were injured in an two-vehicle accident near Fruitland Tuesday evening.

The accident occurred at 5:20 p.m. on U.S. 61 at the Interstate 55 intersection, said a Missouri State Highway Patrol officer.

Steven Masterson, 21, and Laura Coomer, 17, both of Jackson, received moderate injuries and were taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital, the patrol said.

A 1994 Dodge pickup driven by Raymond Harris, 50, of Wyatt was traveling southbound and made a left turn, colliding with Masterson's Mercury Cougar, the patrol said.

Harris was not injured.

Carrie Yount of Marble Hill and Tatia Angle of Sedgewickville were injured in an accident on U.S. Highway 34 in Jackson.

The accident occurred at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday when the vehicle Yount was driving collided with Angle's vehicle, Jackson police said.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital and later released.
