Four Notre Dame High School seniors have been selected to receive Missouri Higher Education Scholarships, also known as Bright Flight scholarships. Four Notre Dame High School seniors have been selected to receive Missouri Higher Education Scholarships, also known as Bright Flight scholarships.

The students are Evelyn Beussink, Greg Kuntz, Matthew Sander and Christy Vandeven.

A student must score in the top 3 percent of the state on the ACT and choose to attend a Missouri-supported college or university to receive the $2,000 per year scholarship.

Beussink, of Jackson, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beussink Jr. She is senior class president, a member of the National Honor Society, French Club, Future Business Leaders of America, and the girls varsity basketball team. She plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Kuntz, of Cape Girardeau, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Kuntz. He is a member of the Scholar Bowl team and varsity soccer team. He plans to attend the University of Missouri-Rolla.

Sander, of Sikeston, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sander. He is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, the Math Field Day team and the Physics Olympic team. He also plans to attend the University of Missouri-Rolla.

Vandeven, of Cape Girardeau, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Vandeven. She is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Pep Club, and Students Against Drunk Driving. She plans to attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City or the St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
