Four Cape Girardeau men were arrested Wednesday on drug-related charges after police found crack cocaine and marijuana in a South Hanover Street residence.

Police found about a half-pound of marijuana and about 8 ounces of crack cocaine at 11. S. Hanover St., according to the probable-cause statement.

"It's a pretty significant amount [of drugs]," said Sgt. Barry Hovis.

Hovis said police, working with the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force, obtained a warrant to search the house.

According to the probable-cause statement, the search of the premises at 12:35 p.m. uncovered not only the drugs, but also cash, digital scales, weapons, a police scanner and two monitors hooked up to cameras over the front and rear door of the residence.

Three of the four men who were found inside the house and arrested reside there: Alex C. Kimble, 25; Roy A. Johnson, 19; and Kendrick D. Kimble, 23.

They were charged with felony trafficking in the second degree, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use. Bond was set at $40,000 each.

Alex C. Kimble reportedly admitted to police the marijuana belonged to him, the statement said, and Kendrick D. Kimble is on probation in Cape Girardeau County for possession of a felony amount of marijuana.

A fourth man, Germond M. Cobb, 24, 1335 Amblewood Drive, No. 17, was also arrested at the scene and was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $20,000.

Hovis said it is not yet known if a fifth man arrested at the scene is connected to the incident.

Charles M. Watkins, 25, of Pulaski, Ill., was approaching the residence when police arrived, Hovis said. Police arrested him on a Scott City warrant for failure to appear for no driver's license.
