Approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Flora Ward, 57, of Arbyrd was driving south on U.S. 412 when she apparently lost control of her car and crossed the center line, Pruitt reported. She struck a semi-trailer, driven by John Moore, 44, of Yazoo City, Miss., and glanced off, striking a second car driven by Darla Massey, 46, of Kennett.

Both Ward, 57, and Massey died at the scene, Pruitt reported. Both of Massey's passengers, Ronald Massey, 37, and Ashley Moses, 13, died. No injuries were reported by Moore, the Highway Patrol said.

None of those who died were wearing seat belts, according to Pruitt.
