Four local people were injured in three different accidents Tuesday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
At 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, a 1993 Mack dump truck driven by Thomas McFerron, 54, of Cape Girardeau overturned as McFerron attempted to turn from Route OO onto Route F. McFerron was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
At 5:27 p.m. on Highway 34 three miles east of Burfordville, a 2002 Freightliner driven by Keith Simmons, 25, of Delta ran off the right side of the road and overturned. The patrol said that Simmons was unable to stop for a vehicle ahead of him that was waiting in the road to make a left turn. He was issued a summons for following too close.
A passenger in the vehicle, Gary Hunt, 41, of Delta was taken to St. Francis Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
At 5:57 p.m., Christopher M. Hrabik, 18, was flown to St. Francis Medical Center with serious injuries after the 1994 Ford he was riding in ran off Cape Girardeau County Road 360 three miles southeast of Burfordville. The vehicle then struck a ditch and overturned. The driver, Jacqueline Kinder, 17, of Jackson was taken by private vehicle to the same hospital with minor injuries.
