Four people, including a Ste. Genevieve County sheriff's deputy, were injured in two separate accidents in Ste. Genevieve County Thursday.
The first accident occurred at 5:25 p.m. at Interstate 55 and Highway 32 when the driver of a 1993 Dodge made a wide right turn from the northbound I-55 ramp onto eastbound Highway 32 and struck a westbound 1989 Mazda head-on, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The driver of the Dodge, Larry Sutton, 26, of Cape Girardeau and his passenger, Mary Ledbetter, 20, of Cape Girardeau suffered minor injuries and were transported to Ste. Genevieve County Hospital.
The driver of the Mazda, Michael Hermann, 37, of Ste. Genevieve suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Ste. Genevieve County Hospital.
In the second accident, sheriff's deputy John Thatcher, 55, of Ste. Genevieve was responding to a domestic disturbance report when the tie rod broke on his 1997 Ford patrol car and the vehicle spun out of control, striking a telephone pole, according to the patrol.
Thatcher suffered minor injuries and was transported by patrol car to Ste. Genevieve County Hospital.
