The four aldermen whose terms expire next year hope to retain their seats. Each will file Dec. 18 to get on the April 8 ballot.

Those running again: Curtis Poore, who stepped into fill Mayor Barbara Lohr's unexpired term in Ward 1; David Reiminger for Ward 2; Larry Cunningham for Ward 3; and Joe Bob Baker for Ward 4. Each of Jackson's wards is represented by two aldermen.

Reiminger, Cunningham and Baker said they were not aware of any impending competition for their seats on the city's governing board. Poore, who did not return messages asking for comment, has said in previous interviews he plans to run again.
