BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Four Stoddard County residents facing attempted murder charges will all stand trial early next year.
Erica Cain, 23, of Bloomfield will be first to stand trial. A plea hearing is scheduled before Judge Mark Lee Richardson at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday with a jury trial slated to begin at 8 a.m. Jan. 23.
Cain is charged with second-degree attempted murder and armed criminal action stemming from a March incident in which a woman was beaten.
Also arrested were Frank Morris, 19, of Dexter, Mo., Joshua Holderfield, 21, of Bloomfield, and Shane Talley, 21, of Bloomfield. All three are charged with second-degree attempted murder and armed criminal action.
Morris, also being tried in Butler County by Judge Richardson, has a pretrial conference set for 8:30 a.m. Jan. 6; his trial is scheduled for 8 a.m. Feb. 6.
Holderfield, on a change of venue motion, will be tried in New Madrid County by Judge Fred Copeland. He will stand trial before a jury at 9 a.m. Jan. 29.
Talley, also on a change of venue, will stand trial in Butler County before Judge Richardson. A pretrial conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. Jan. 6 with a jury trial set for 8 a.m. Feb. 13.
