POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Police netted more than they expected Saturday night when they went they served a city arrest warrant on a man staying at a Poplar Bluff motel.

They walked away with the man, as well as three others and 13 "corner bags" of suspected methamphetamine packaged for sale.

Patrolman Corey Mitchell reported he received information that Daniel Adam Canania, 42, of Poplar Bluff was staying at the Three Rivers Inn. Canania was wanted on a municipal failure to appear warrant for possession of marijuana.

Officers served a warrant at the motel room and arrested Canania, Gilbert Farrell, 63, and Tracy Lea Farrell, 30, both of Paragould, Ark., and Laura Hawkins, 39, of Poplar Bluff.

All four suspects were booked into the Butler County Jail on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell.

Hawkins was also arrested on a city warrant for no operator's license.

The suspects were reportedly released Sunday, pending submission of the report.
