PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- The Perry County Sheriff's Department arrested four people in recent days on suspicion of distribution of controlled substances, after a lengthy investigation.

On March 8, officers watched as an informant met with Shawn Matthew Wenzel, 32, and Janel Boland, both of St. Mary, Mo., to buy marijuana from Wenzel, a probable-cause statement said. Wenzel picked the informant up in a passenger car. A small child was in the car at the time of the transaction, the statement said.

Wenzel and Boland were each booked into the Perry County Jail on Monday on charges of distribution of a controlled substance and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child. They remained in the jail Tuesday on $10,000 cash-only bonds.

On May 29, Eric James Baltrush allegedly sold five hydrocodone pills for $20 to an informant outside a Perryville business, according to a probable-cause statement. Baltrush was booked into the jail Monday on a charge of distribution of a controlled substance, and remained there on a $10,000 cash-only bond.

In another investigation, deputies allegedly learned they could buy Xanax pills from Jennifer Lynn Priller, 47, of Perryville, a probable-cause statement said. On May 24, an informant met with Priller outside a grocery store, where Priller sold the informant 10 pills for $20, a probable-cause statement said.

Deputies booked Priller into the jail Saturday on a charge of distribution of a controlled substance. She posted a $10,000 bond Tuesday.
