Delores Heisserer Chambers, formerly of Scott City, has been awarded a doctorate in food marketing and statistics from Kansas State University, Manhattan.

While at the university she won second place in the national Institute of Food Technologists' research competition for her research on cheese flavor and was a finalist for the national sensory evaluation research competition for her research on salt taste.

While completing her degree, Chambers worked in product testing for Coors in Golden, Colo., for Moskowitz Jacobs Scientific Marketing Research in New York and taught at Kansas State University.

She is employed at the world headquarters of Kellogg's where she directs testing on cereals, snack foods and other foods made by the company.

She earned a bachelor's degree in marketing and computer science at Southeast Missouri State University and graduated from Scott City High School. She is the daughter of Linus A. and Frances S. Heisserer of Scott City.
