VALLEY PARK, Mo. -- The former mayor of Valley Park has been charged with six misdemeanors, including driving while intoxicated.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that charges against Nathan Grellner, former mayor of Valley Park in St. Louis County, were filed last week in Jefferson County. Grellner resigned July 26 after coming under fire for questionable spending with a city credit card, missing city meetings and his June arrest in Jefferson County.
The Jefferson County charges also include assaulting a law enforcement officer, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and speeding. Online records don't list a lawyer for Grellner, and no phone numbers were listed for him.
Grellner's accused of leading officers on a chase, and then becoming combative with officers. Shortly after the arrest he was treated at a hospital for drug abuse.
