Former Cape Girardeau County sheriff dies
Former Cape Girardeau County Sheriff Herman F. "Bob" Gribler, 69, of Jackson passed away Feb. 2, 2012 at his home. Former Cape Girardeau County Sheriff Herman F. "Bob" Gribler, 69, of Jackson passed away Feb. 2, 2012 at his home.
Gribler served as sheriff from 1981 to 1985 and was a lieutenant for the Jackson Police Department before being elected sheriff. He was also on the original board of directors for the Cape Girardeau County-Bollinger County Major Case Squad, which formed in 1983.

The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Revs. Darrell Faire and Tom Wall officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with full military honors.
