JACKSON -- Karla Jo Wills, formerly of Jackson, has been named a United State National Award winner in science.
The academy recognizes less than 10 percent of all American high school students.
Wills, who now lives in St. Louis, was nominated for this award by Jean Radice, a science teacher at her school.
She will appear in the United States Achievement Academy Official Yearbook. She is also eligible to compete for a scholarship.
Willis was also inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. She is the daughter of Bob and Janet Wills.
