Formal charges were filed Thursday morning against a central Missouri man who allegedly attempted to rob a Cape Girardeau pharmacy early Wednesday.

Harrison S. Foster, 20, of Auxvasse, Mo., faces charges of attempted pharmacy robbery, possession of a controlled substance, and making a terroristic threat.

Police responded to the Medicap Pharmacy on Kingshighway around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday after learning there may be a robbery in progress.

When they arrived, Foster was alone in the building, and, following a standoff with police, yelled "I've got a bomb, and I'm going to blow up the building," according to a probable cause statement written and signed by officer James W. Zeidler.

He was arrested a short while later and held overnight at the Cape Girardeau municipal jail.

Foster was out on bond after allegedly trying to rob a Scott City pharmacy two weeks ago.

He and his brother, Hunter Foster, 18, also of Auxvasse, were arrested and charged with pharmacy robbery, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, making a terrorist threat and possession of a controlled substance for the Scott City robbery attempt.

In that incident, which occurred May 14, the Fosters are accused of taking a duffel bag into the pharmacy and saying it contained a bomb. The bag was later found to have been filled with shoes.

The Fosters were arraigned May 20 in Scott County and released on reduced bond two days later after posting $5,000, or 10 percent, of the $50,000 bond.
