Meteorologists warned that today and Friday have the potential for devastating storms similar to those on Sunday.
With a warm front moving in early today and a cold front expected later in the evening, the possibility exists for severe storms, according to National Weather Service meteorologist David Blanchard.
"There's definitely instability and wind shear," he said.
Thunderstorms could arrive as early as this afternoon for Southeast Missouri, with a 60 percent chance of precipitation, the National Weather Service Web site reported.
The thunderstorms may redevelop by midday Friday, and possibly last until early evening.
The storms could produce large hail, strong winds and isolated tornadoes, according to the weather service Web site.
