Ford & Sons acquires Perryville funeral home

With nearly 200 combined years of service to residents of Cape Girardeau, Perryville, Missouri, and the surrounding region, Ford & Sons of Cape Girardeau and Young & Sons of Perryville have formalized a business relationship and have renamed the Perryville funeral home Ford & Young in Perryville.

Kevin Ford, president of Ford & Sons, said details of the Ford & Sons acquisition of Young & Sons were finalized Tuesday and the renaming of the Perryville funeral home took effect Wednesday.

"Our family and the Ford family share many common values and goals," said John Young, president of Young & Sons. "We have worked together for several years and felt it was the right time to develop a formal arrangement. This is an exciting time for our company and community."

He said Ford & Young in Perryville will continue to serve the Perryville community and will leverage the strength and resources of both funeral home operations. Ford & Sons also operates funeral homes in Jackson and Benton as well as Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.

"We continue to look for relationships with the same mindset and commitment to families and communities," Ford said. "Young & Sons is a great example of this. They have serviced families lovingly and responsibly for decades. We look forward to building on this for the future."

He added that few changes are planned in the near term aside from the name and a few cosmetic modifications at the Perryville location. No staffing changes are anticipated at this time, he said.

"Everyone can expect to receive the same thorough and compassionate attention from the same friends and neighbors who have served them and their families in the past," Ford said.

Ford & Young in Perryville will honor all prearrangements made through Young & Sons, he said.
