Members of the 27th Senatorial District committees Saturday elected Ralph Ford to head the Republican committee and Todd McBride to chair the Democratic group at reorganizational meetings.
Both were re-elected to their posts.
Republicans also elected Rebel Dugan of Charleston as vice chairman; Jerry Marquis of Marble Hill, treasurer; and Brenda Swan of Chaffee, secretary.
Republicans in the 27th District also re-elected Ford to a fifth term on the Republican State Committee; Gayle Green of Sikeston won her first term on the state committee.
Paula Cunningham of Mississippi County, was elected by Democrats as the 27th District vice chairman; Mike Marshall of Sikeston was elected treasurer; and Connie Shuford of Chaffee, was chosen as secretary.
Marshall was elected state committeeman and Nancy Smith of Perryville, state committeewoman for the Democratic Party. Both were elected to their first terms in the posts.
The 27th District includes the counties of Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, Perry, Madison, Scott, and Mississippi.
Also on Saturday, the Republicans elected officers for the 32nd Judicial District committee, which will meet soon to choose a nominee to run in November for circuit judge.
Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. resigned from the post last week to take an appointment to the Missouri Supreme Court.
Donna Lichtenegger of Jackson was elected chairman; Ken Richardson of Cape Girardeau vice chairman; Loretta Schneider of Cape Girardeau secretary; and Marquis was chosen as treasurer.
This week the 8th Congressional District committees will be getting organized.
Republicans will meet on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Poplar Bluff. Democrats will gather on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Fiddler's Restaurant in Dexter.
