Food bank collecting items at three sites today

For the first time, Southeast Missouri Food Bank is sponsoring a Splash Out Hunger event today at three drop-off locations around Cape Girardeau.

Food will be collected from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, Schnucks and the Osage Centre.

After collections are finished for the day, a Backpacks for Friday program will be at Cape Splash from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with games, prizes and a silent auction. General admission is $10, and VIP admission is $15, which includes a Cape Splash ticket, at T-shirt and bracelet.
