Folk singers Cathy Barton and Dave Para along with 13-year-old Cape Girardeau fiddler Liesl Schoenberger will perform in a concert at 7 p.m. tonight on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.
Barton plays hammered and lap dulcimers along with banjo. The theme of KRCU's "Your Folk Connection" program features her dulcimer playing.
Para plays guitar, bones and spoons. Both Boonville natives, he and Barton have been performing together for more than 18 years.
Their most recent albums have offered songs of the Civil War in Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas.
In 1995, they performed for the funeral of Jesse James after the outlaw's remains were exhumed for DNA testing.
Liesl Schoenberger was the 1996 Missouri junior fiddle champion. She also is a classically trained violinist.
The concert is sponsored by KRCU. It will be held in Glenn Auditorium at Dempster Hall.
