The vaccine will be administered only to those adults age 65 and over, persons age 2 to 64 with serious underlying medical conditions, children 6 to 23 months old, pregnant women with a note from their physician, nursing home and long-term care facilities residents, health-care workers with direct patient care, children and teenagers six months to 18 years on chronic aspirin therapy, out-of-home care givers and household contacts of children less than 6 months old.

Medicare and Medicaid will be accepted; otherwise there is a $15 fee.

In addition to the 600 doses at the health department, Enderle said, nine other local health-care providers will receive vaccine for a total of 1,170 doses for the county for December.
