Most of the heaviest rain associated with the storm system that dumped over 10 inches of rain on Cape Girardeau Tuesday has now left the Southeast Missouri area.However, flooding is still a problem around the area, and a National Weather Service flood warning remains in place until noon.Additional rainfall expected today should be less than one inch, the weather service forecasts, but even slight amounts of rain will only add to the flooding problem that still remains, as swollen waterways and soggy ground have little room to absorb more water.The weather service also reported that Tuesday's rainfall amounts broke the previous two-day record for Cape Girardeau, which was 9.71 inches on May 26 and 27, 1973. ...
