Five teen-agers were injured in an accident Sunday morning on a county road north of Cape Girardeau.

Jennifer Bracken, 16, of Cape Girardeau, Jamie Smith, 13, of Columbia, and Joseph Harrison, 14, AnneMarie Bracken, 15, and Samuel Buchanan, 15, all of Cape Girardeau, were injured and taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital for treatment.

The Missouri Highway Patrol report said the accident happened at 10 a.m. Sunday on County Road 621, eight miles north of Cape Girardeau. Jennifer Bracken, who was driving, failed to negotiate a curve in the road and ran off the blacktop and hit a tree.
