Five people suffered injuries that were not life-threatening during a traffic crash early Friday morning on Southern Expressway at Corporate Circle, police reported.

Susan Cabrera, 29, of Cape Girardeau was driving a 2004 Dodge Caravan on Southern Expressway about 7:30 a.m. Friday when a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 truck slowed to make a left turn in front of her, said Sgt. Jason Selzer of the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

The Caravan hit the back of the truck driven by 39-year-old Marvin Scott of Cape Girardeau, Selzer said in an email to the Southeast Missourian.

He said four passengers, ages 11, 9, 7 and 5, were in the Caravan during the crash. No one in the van was wearing a seat belt, he said.
