SCOTT CITY -- The Tackle Box has opened at 1414 Main in Scott City.

The Tackle Box, a retail operation of Crappie Co., U.S.A, also headquartered at Scott City, will provide a large selection of bass and crappie rods, reels, and other fishing supplies.

"We have some of the big names in the business," said Charlie Rogers, an owner. "We offer All Star rods, Southern Pro Lures, Lunker Lures, Dixie Dancer Lures, and Bass Pro rod and gun products.

"We also have a big variety of crappie lures and hair jigs, including our own Crappie Co., U.S.A., bucktails," said Rogers. "We can fit the full needs of crappie and bass anglers."

Other owners of the business are Linda Rogers and Jerry Bennett Jr.

The store is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.

"We have a small operation here," said Rogers, a representative of Southern Pro Lures. "We call ourselves the biggest little fishing tackle company in Missouri."

A franchise tackle shop has also opened in Dexter; Dad's Tackle Box 2, on West Business Route 60.
