JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Here is the weekly fishing report from the Missouri Department of Conservation:

RIVERS:

Big River: Clear, 1' low; bass good on topwater lures and minnows; catfish good on worms and cut bait.

Black (upper): Clear, 2 1/2' above normal; all species slow to fair on artificial and natural bait.

Castor (near Zalma): Clear, low; bass good on artificial lures and topwater lures; all other species slow.

Current: Clear, 1' below normal; all species slow to fair on artificial and natural bait.

Jacks Fork: Clear, 1' below normal; all species slow.

Meramec (below Eureka): Dingy, low; catfish good on live bait; bass fair on artificial lures.

Meramec (above Sullivan): Clear, normal; bass good on artificial lures; all other species fair on artificial bait.

Mississippi (below Charleston): Normal; catfish excellent on pole and line and jugs off dikes with worms and cut bait; all other species fair.

Mississippi (above St. Louis): Murky, normal level; catfish good on setlines with grasshoppers and on rod and reel with worms; drum good on worms; all other species slow.

Osage (at Tuscumbia): Low, clear; black bass and catfish fair; all other species slow. If water stays low gigging will be good this weekend.

St. Francis (below Wappapello): Muddy, extremely low; catfish fair on worms; all other species slow.

St. Francis (Above Wappapelo): Clear, low; black bass good on artificial lures, topwater lures and jig and pigs; all other species slow.

LAKES:

Bull Shoals (East): Clear, 1' above normal; black bass fair on plastic worms and crankbaits; white bass fair on stinkbaits and shad; bluegill good on crickets and nightcrawlers; catfish fair on shad and nightcrawlers using pole and line and on hot dogs and live bait using jugs; all other species slow.

Bull Shoals: No report given.

Clearwater: Clear, normal; crappie good on minnows; black bass fair on plastic worms; catfish good on live bait using juglines; bluegill good on crickets and worms along bank; carp good on canned corn using rod and reel; all other species slow.

Duck Creek: Bass good on topwater lures from sunset to sunrise; all other species slow; vegetation 90%.

Lake of the Ozarks (Bagnell tailwater): Normal, dingy; black bass and white bass fair; all other species slow. If water stays down gigging will be good this weekend.

Lake of the Ozarks (Glaize): Clear; bluegill and catfish good; white bass and crappie fair; all other species slow.

Lake of the Ozarks (Gravois): Clear; catfish good; crappie slow to fair; white bass and black bass slow.

Lake of the Ozarks (Niangua): Clear; black bass fair on topwaters and jig and pig; white bass fair on shad and deep running lures; crappie fair to good on minnows in 20' of water over brush; catfish good on shad sides and live bait; walleye fair to good on minnows and nightcrawlers; sunfish excellent on worms and jigs.

Lake of the Ozarks (Osage): Clear; bluegill and catfish good; crappie and white bass fair; all other species slow.

Pomme de Terre: Clear, slightly below normal pool; black bass excellent around cliffs and in deep coves using spinnerbaits, crankbaits and plastic worms; crappie good around docks, stumps and bridges at 4-12' depths using minnows and jigs; walleye good trolling with wigglewarts and crankbaits; bluegill good around docks and off banks using worms; catfish fair on trotlines in coves and channels using cut bait and stinkbaits.

Table Rock (James River Arm): 1/2' below power pool, clear; black bass good on crankbaits on points of coves, good on topwater and spinnerbaits early a.m. and late p.m. on plastic worms; channel catfish fair while drifting with shad and nightcrawlers; bluegill good on nightcrawlers and crickets.

Table Rock (lower): Clear, 6' below power pool; black bass fair on nightcrawlers and plastic worms on main points; bluegill fair to good on crickets and worms; crappie fair; all other species slow.

Taneycomo: Clear below normal; trout good using Power Baits, salmon eggs, earthworms, corn and doughbait; brown trout good using Rapalas and Rebels; rainbow trout good using minnows; floating grass in early a.m. and leaves are causing trollers to experience difficulty.

Truman tailwaters: 2' low, clear; crappie fair using minnows and jigs; catfish fair using cut shad and worms; all other species slow.

Truman: Clear, slightly below normal pool; catfish good on bottom of shallow coves and off flats using shad; crappie fair at 8-12' depths using minnows and red and chartreuse jigs, all other species slow.

Wappapello: Normal recreational pool; low discharge at 60 CFS, 318.95 tailwater low; bass fair in early a.m. and late p.m. on spinnerbaits; bluegill fair on crickets; crappie fair on minnows and jigs in deep water; catfish fair on worms. NOTE: Anglers are encouraged to harvest bass under 11 inches (daily limit 6) to reduce the numbers of small bass in Wappapello Lake.

TROUT AREAS:

Bennett Spring: Clear, normal; trout good.

Maramec Spring: Clear, normal; fishing good.

Montauk: Clear, normal; rainbow trout good in early a.m.

Roaring River: Clear, normal; trout good.
