The weekly fishing report from the Missouri Department of Conservation:
RIVERS:
Black (above Clearwater): Dingy, 9' above normal; smallmouth bass good on crayfish and crayfish colored shadrap; goggle-eye fair on crayfish; all other fishing slow.
Castor (above Zalma): Clear, normal; bass fair on live bait and topwater lures; sunfish good on small minnows, crickets and worms; all other fishing slow.
Current: Murky but clearing, 1 1/2' above normal; all species fair.
Jack's Fork: Clear, normal; smallmouth bass, goggle-eye and sunfish good on small plastic jigs, small plastic worms and Rebels; all other fishing slow.
James (below Hooten Town): Clear, high; catfish fair on worms and stinkbaits; goggle-eye good on grubs and Beetle Spins; black bass good on worms and plastic worms.
Meramec (below Eureka): Dingy, slightly high; catfish fair on nightcrawlers; all other species fair to slow on artificial lures.
Meramec (above Sullivan): Clear, normal; sunfish and goggle-eye good on artificial lures.
Mississippi (below Charlestown): Muddy, falling; all species slow.
Mississippi (above St. Louis): Murky, 1' high; drum good on worms; channel catfish fair on worms and stinkbaits; all other fishing slow.
Missouri (below New Haven): Muddy, slightly high; catfish good on nightcrawlers and liver; drum good on worms; carp fair on corn.
St. Francis (below Wappapello): Falling, all species poor.
St. Francis (above Wappapello): Clear, normal; all species fair on live bait.
LAKES
Bull Shoals (East): Clear, 20' above normal; black bass good on nightcrawlers, Salty Craws and some topwater lures; catfish fair on stinkbaits and live baits; bluegill good on nightcrawlers; all other fishing slow.
Bull Shoals (K-Dock): Clear, 22' above power pool; bluegill good on natural baits; channel catfish fair to good on worms in backwaters and creeks; largemouth bass fair on topwater.
Busch Memorial Conservation Area Lake 33: Murky; bass fair; crappie fair; bluegill good on worms and crickets; catfish good on chicken livers and worms; all other fishing slow.
Clearwater: Clear, 8' above normal; crappie fair on minnows and crankbaits using trolling method; bluegill fair using crickets and worms along shorelines; catfish fair on chicken liver using juglines; carp good on corn; all other fishing slow.
Duck Creek: Clear, normal; bass good on plastic worms, spinnerbaits and topwater lures; bluegill fair to good on crickets and worms; catfish fair on cut bait; crappie poor; vegetation 80%.
Lake of the Ozarks (Bagnell tailwaters): Normal, muddy, 5 flood gates open and 8 generators running; white bass fair; catfish fair downstream on natural baits; all other fishing slow.
Lake of the Ozarks (Glaize): Clear; catfish and black bass good; bluegill and white bass good; all other fishing slow.
Lake of the Ozarks (Gravois): Clearing; catfish good; black bass fair; crappie slow to fair; white bass slow.
Lake of the Ozarks (Niangua): Clear; black bass good on crankbaits, buzzbaits and plastic worms; white bass good on shad, fair on artificial minnows, and Rooster Tails; crappie slow; walleye fair on nightcrawlers, leeches and minnows, fished deep; sunfish fair on worms and crickets; catfish fair on prepared bait on pole lines.
Lake of the Ozarks (Osage): Muddy; bluegill and white bass good; catfish and black bass fair; all other species slow.
Table Rock (James River Arm): Clear, 2 1/2' above power pool; black bass fair to good early morning and late evening on nightcrawlers and Power Baits; bluegill fair to good on worms; catfish fair on trotlines; white bass fair on topwater and trolling.
Wappapello: 1' high; lake level stable; discharge 950 CFS, 325.35 tailwater; bluegill good on crickets; crappie good on minnows; bass good on crankbaits; catfish fair. NOTE: Anglers are encouraged to harvest bass under 11 inches (daily limit 6) to reduce the numbers of small bass in Wappapello Lake.
TROUT AREAS
Bennett Spring: Clear, slightly up; trout good.
Maramec Spring: Clear, normal; fishing good.
Montauk: Clear, normal; rainbow trout good in early a.m.
Roaring River: Slightly dingy, slightly above normal; trout good.
