The weekly fishing report from the Missouri Department of Conservation:
RIVERS:
Black (upper): Clear, normal, goggle-eye good on natural bait, all other species poor.
Castor (upper): Murky, normal, goggle eye and bluegill excellent, all other species fair.
Current: Clear, normal, goggle-eye good on natural bait, all other species poor.
Eleven Point: Clear, normal, trout good, goggle-eye fair on natural bait, all other species poor.
Mississippi (lower): Muddy, rising, catfish slow, all other species fair.
St. Francis (lower): Slightly muddy, crappie slow, bluegill poor, bass fair.
St. Francis (upper): Murky, normal, goggle-eye good on worms and minnows, all species poor.
Black bass must be released immediately unharmed from most streams until season opens May 27. See Fishing Summary for legal length limits.
LAKES:
Clearwater: Dingy, normal, crappie good on jigs and minnows, bass fair on live bait, all other species poor.
Lake of the Ozarks (Bagnell tailwaters): Normal, muddy, all species poor.
Lake of the Ozarks (Glaize): Clear, crappie and black bass good, white bass and catfish fair, all other species slow.
Lake of the Ozarks (Gravois): Clear, crappie good, black bass and catfish fair, white bass fair to poor.
Lake of the Ozarks (Niangua): Clear, black bass fair on spinner baits and topwaters around docks, white bass fair using jigs and shad sides, channel catfish good on shad guts and minnows, crappie good over beds with minnows and jigs, walleye good on nightcrawlers and minnows fished deep, sunfish good on worms and jigs.
Lake of the Ozarks (Osage): Clear, crappie and black bass good, white bass and catfish fair, all other species poor.
Wappapello: Murky, low, crappie good, all other species fair.
TROUT AREAS:
Bennett Spring: Murky, slightly up, trout good.
Maramec Spring: Slightly murky, normal, fishing good.
Montauk: Clear, normal, rainbow trout good in early a.m.
Roaring River: Clear, normal, trout good.
