Castor (Upper): Clear, low; bass & sunfish best catch on live bait, all other species fair.
Meramec (Upper): 73o F, clear, normal; bass good on live bait, especially crayfish & worms; bluegill good on live bait & artificial bait.
Meramec (Lower): 77o F, dingy, normal; drum fair on live bait & spinnerbaits; all other species poor.
Mississippi (Lower): 80o F, clear, normal; catfish fair & best catch on pole & line using worms, cut bait, & shrimp bait; all other species fair.
St. Francis (Lower): 77o F, murky, very low; spotted bass fair on jigs & spinnerbaits; all other species poor.
St. Francis (Upper): Murky, high; all species poor.
LAKES:
Clearwater: 76o F, dingy, 1 1/2 below normal; crappie good on minnows; catfish good on juglines using nightcrawlers; carp good on corn; bluegill fair on crickets; all other species fair.
Duck Creek: 80o F, clear, full; bass fair in p.m. on topwater lures, 60% vegetation.
Table Rock (Long Creek): 78o F, clear, 7' below power pool; black bass fair on nightcrawlers & topwater lures; bluegill fair on crickets; catfish fair on trotlines; all other species poor.
Taneycomo: 50o F upper lake, 57o F mid-lake, 67o F lower lake, clear, below normal due to reduced power generation; light fishing pressure; rainbow trout averaging 10-12" on Power Baits, nuggets, salmon eggs, worms, jigs under corks & trolling.
Truman: 75o F, clear, normal; crappie good at 8-15' depths around stumps & fence rows using minnows & jigs; black bass good on secondary points, flats & rocky banks using plastic worms, spinnerbaits & topwater lures; white bass & hybrids fair on flats & drop offs using spoons & spinnerbaits; catfish fair near river channels using shad & sunfish on trotlines & juglines.
Wappapello: Murky, normal; bass fair on plastic worms & spinnerbaits in early a.m. & late p.m.; all other species poor.
NOTE: Anglers are encouraged to harvest bass less than 11".
Lake is crowded with small bass that do not get enough to eat
and become stunted. Harvesting small bass should reduce
competition and allow the remaining bass to grow faster. The
result should be greater numbers of large bass to catch in the
future.
