Brase Distributing and B&H Fleet & Industrial Supply has opened a new machine shop at its warehouse at 2350 Rust Ave., in Cape Girardeau.
David J. Kies Jr., sales manager for the firm, announced the new facility recently.
"All types of engine work, flywheel reconditioning and other machine shop services will be available," said Kies. "The shop will work on all types and sizes of engines, from 3-horsepower Briggs & Stratton lawn mower engines to a 2,500-horsepower Detroit or EMD engine."
Earl Benus, who has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive and industrial field, will be chief machinist of the new operation.
Other services provided include valve jobs, complete motor overhauls, head resurfacing, crank grinding and rod reconditioning.
"We will accept work from individuals, dealers or fleets," said Kies. "We'll offer fast, professional service at competitive rates."
Kies added that a valve job could be in and out within 24 hours, "minimizing the down time for our customers."
The shop will take in work from any of the 13 store locations, plus B&H Fleet at Cape Girardeau.
