ORAN, Mo. -- Firefighters from five agencies contained a 65-acre brush fire near Oran on County Road 250 Saturday afternoon.
According to Bryan Webb, assistant fire chief with the Oran Fire District, the fire was reported at 2:39 p.m. and took about two hours for firefighters to extinguish.
He said no one was injured while fighting the fire, and the cause is undetermined. Dry weather and high winds more than likely contributed to the blaze, he said.
Also responding to the fire were the Chaffee Fire Department, NBC Fire District, Scott County Rural Fire District and Scott City Fire Department.
