The building was being rented by Jason Laster, who has been running a cabinet-making business there for about nine months.

Jackson Fire Chief Brad Golden said the fire appeared to start in a trash can, but added that there will be an investigation to determine what exactly started the blaze.

Laster was not in the building at the time of the fire, he said. No one was injured.
