Final defendant sentenced in Cape house party stabbing case

The last man found guilty in connection with a May stabbing incident at a Cape Girardeau house party was sentenced to five years supervised probation Tuesday.

Kemond Hollis, 23, of Ullin, Ill., was found guilty of hindering prosecution by Judge William Syler in a bench trial Dec. 13. Hollis was one of three men who arrived uninvited at a party in the 300 block of North Pacific Street in May, according to police. A fight started while the men were trying to leave, and four people were stabbed.

Kollin Payne pleaded guilty to third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, in Cape Girardeau County Circuit Court in November and was given a one-year suspended prison sentence and two years of probation. Brandon Rowe pleaded guilty to two second-degree assault charges and was sentenced to five years in prison.
