A domestic disturbance that started in Stoddard County and continued into southeastern Scott County ended in at least one person going to a Sikeston hospital for emergency surgery on stab wounds, according to a news release from the Scott County Sheriff's Department.
The release said several others were also injured.
Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said no names are being released at this time because police are still sorting out exactly what happened in the fight.
Deputies were dispatched to at 10 p.m. Wednesday night. Information they gathered indicated the disturbance had begun earlier near Bell City in Stoddard County and later continued somehow east of Miner in Scott County, where one person supposedly tried to run over another with a truck, resulting in a fight and stabbing, the news release said.
Walter said it's been difficult getting a straight story from those involved, but his department hopes to have the scenario sorted out today.
