The following information was released by the office of federal prosecutor Catherine Hanaway for defendants who appeared in federal court Monday before U.S. District Judge Charles A. Shaw:

SENTENCED

Name: Roy "Herbie" Brown

Age: 36

Residence: Ripley County

Charge: Attempt to manufacture methamphetamine and felon in possession of firearms ammunition.

Sentence: 120 months in prison.

Details: Brown admitted that on Aug. 18, 2005, he attempted to produce meth. During a search of his home, officers found a meth lab with chemicals in the early stages of meth production.

PLEADED GUILTY

Name: George Mooney

Age: 37

Residence: Hayti, Mo.

Charge: Felon in possession of a firearm.

Sentence range: Up to life in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Details: While living with a woman, Mooney took her pistol and traded it for crack cocaine on July 3, 2005. The pistol was later recovered and Mooney admitted he possessed it, which he is not allowed to do due to previous felony convictions. Sentencing is Dec. 11.

The following defendants appeared Tuesday before Shaw:

SENTENCED

Name: Christopher S. Scott

Age: 25

Residence: Cape Girardeau

Charge: Felon in possession of a firearm.

Sentence: 37 months in prison.

Details: Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives searched Scott's home Feb. 16 and found a 9 mm pistol, which Scott admitted was his. Due to previous felony convictions, Scott is not allowed to possess firearms.

Name: Andrew Leal

Age: 37

Residence: Sikeston, Mo.

Charge: Felon in possession of a firearm.

Sentence: 180 months in prison.

Details: When a state search warrant was executed on Leal's home June 7, 2004, officers found marijuana, a 12-gauge shotgun and a 20-gauge shotgun. Leal, who admitted the weapons were his, is not allowed to possess firearms due to previous felony convictions.

PLEADED GUILTY

Name: John L. Wolford

Age: 42

Residence: Montier, Mo.

Charge: Threatening to assault a federal law enforcement officer, attempting to assault a person assisting a federal law enforcement officer and attempting to assault a federal law enforcement officer.

Sentence range: Up to 46 years in prison and a $15,000 fine.

Details: Wolford was arrested following an altercation July 15 at the Blue Springs Primitive Camping Area in Shannon County. While being transported by U.S. Park Rangers, Wolford threatened to kill a ranger, get out of his restraints and attempted to bite a ranger and an assisting Missouri Water Patrol officer. Sentencing is Dec. 11.

The following defendants appeared Wednesday before Shaw:

SENTENCED

Name: Mark Allen Lee

Age: 45

Residence: Charleston, Mo.

Charge: Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Sentence: 200 months in prison.

Details: On Dec. 16, 2004, Lee was pulled over for a traffic violation in East Prairie, Mo. During a search of his vehicle, a Mississippi County Sheriff's deputy found 20.4 grams of pure meth.

PLEADED GUILTY

Name: Jimmy L. Walker

Age: 30

Residence: Cape Girardeau

Charge: Two counts of distribution of cocaine and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.

Sentence range: Up to life in prison and a $2 million fine.

Details: Walker admitted to selling crack cocaine to an undercover officer and confidential informant on Aug. 19 and Oct. 2, 2003. He also admitted to possessing and firing a 12-gauge sawed-off shotgun on Aug. 8 at Frederick Street and Jefferson Avenue. Sentencing is Dec. 12.

Name: Antonio Blackmon

Age: 33

Residence: Cape Girardeau

Charge: Possession with intent to distribute cocaine base.

Sentence range: Up to life in prison and a $4 million fine.

Details: When a search warrant was executed March 7 on a Super 8 Motel room Blackmon was staying in, police found 6.6 grams of crack cocaine and $1,800 in cash. Sentencing is Dec. 11.

Name: Viridiana Desantiago-Esquivel and Clemente Alonso-Lara

Age: 23 and 30, respectively.

Residence: Holcomb, Mo.

Charge: Conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

Sentence range: Up to life in prison and a $4 million fine.

Details: The pair, a husband and wife, admitted to selling about 4 pounds of meth between June 19 and June 23. Sentencing is Dec. 12.
