Bill and Linda Hirtz of Poplar Bluff, Mo., the parents of Rebecca Hargon, appeared on several network morning news programs this morning, including Good Morning America, hoping to draw attention to the case. Yazoo County Sheriff James Williams said Wednesday night that local investigators requested the FBI's assistance.

Blood found at the crime scene has been sent to the Mississippi state crime lab for processing. Theft is not considered a motive and the case is still under intense investigation, authorities said.

Poplar Bluff residents are taking part in prayer services and have established a fund for those who wish to make donations.
