Many people have been accustomed to using the route to avoid traffic lights on Kingshighway, said Jerry Deardorff, school principal. But traffic will be prohibited on the drive from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The drive is situated behind Cheekwood Studios and the church property.

Closing the driveway is a safety precaution for the high school, which has classes in an adjacent building and for a day-care center nearby.

St. Andrew Lutheran Church is the temporary site for Saxony Lutheran High School, the region's first Lutheran high school. The school opened Monday with seven students in a temporary location.
