BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- A Dexter, Mo., man sentenced less than two weeks ago for his role in starving his infant daughter has already violated his probation.
Vabian Webb, who pleaded guilty on April 20 to felony of endangering the welfare of a child, is again behind bars.
According to Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney Russell Oliver, Webb was sentenced to serve 120 days in treatment in a Missouri prison for failing a urine drug test on his first visit to see his probation officer.
Webb was picked up on a probation and parole warrant less than one week after being released from almost 11 months in the Stoddard County Jail, where he was awaiting trial on the child endangerment charges before he pleaded guilty.
Webb, along with his girlfriend, Amanda Knight Garrett, were arrested June 3 on charges of child endangerment and child abuse. Garrett, the infant's mother, also received a suspended sentence. The much-publicized case involved the starvation of an infant child, then 3 months old, who authorities determined was "failing to thrive" due to neglect and was "at risk" and was removed from the home. That child has now been adopted by a local couple and continues to thrive in her newly established home, authorities said.
