Associate Circuit Judge Gary A. Kamp scheduled him to appear for arraignment Sept. 18 in circuit court.

Heuring is charged with felony stealing by deceit. He is accused of using his son's disability to receive $2,202.58 in donations during halftime at a Cape Girardeau high school basketball game Feb. 10.

Heuring's son, who is confined to a wheelchair following a Dec. 8 car accident, did not receive any of the money. The defendant was being held in lieu of a $10,000 cash-only bond.
